SUNSHINE SHADOW

FRANKEEE ... glad you could come back for a visit so soon. I always enjoy your company. Come in my friend and get comfortable. Put on your slippers and go over to the best chair in the house—the recliner by the window.
...
Just to let everyone know that these blogs sare translated into any language, Google knows. I like it because it helps me when I post on Facebook or Instagram.

Another cloudy day here in London, Canada.  It just finished storming.  Rain, high winds, even thunder.
...
I went to the doctors' clinic this morning.  There was another lady and me. No one is venturing out into crowds.  "Social Distancing" is what they are calling it.  We are trying to stop the crazy fast speed that this virus spreads.
...
China is now reporting that were no new cases have for the first time.  Europe has closed all borders.  So has Canada.  Only Canadian citizens allowed, and they will submit to a screening test before being allowed entry.

The Canadian government is giving $85 million to the infrastructure that brings supplies to the store.  Now is an excellent time to be a trucker.

Here I am blabbing away when you have come to see the pictures.  Here we go, picture time.

SUNRISE OR SUNSET SPECIAL

ROGELIO ... (ROW-HAY-LEO)

Welcome back, my friends. Welcome to sunrise and sunset photography blog.
...
Today we have ROW-HAY-LEO visiting us.  This guy is such a good friend that I would give him the shirt off of my back. And I will tell you why.
...
Back in the '90s, when I was working in downtown Calgary, Alberta, Canada, I suffered an ulcer.  I am very much a Type A personality, so I was hustling.  What did I do?  I took this four-tower office complex from the stone-age to the computer age.  Anyway, type A and go, go, go.  I was having a great time discovering all of this geek stuff.  I got it.  It came to me naturally.  So a very cool career.
...
Anyway, I suffered a severe ulcer.  I was in the hospital being monitored and was hooked up to tubes here and there.  So, ROW-HAY-LEO comes to visit me.  All good.  But he left the room every 5-10 minutes while he was visiting.
...
I come to find out after everything was said and done (I got operated on to fix said ulcer. Got a beauty of a scar up my stomach.) that ROW-HAY-LEO was deadly afraid of the sight or smell of blood.
....
He would leave the room at intervals to go out into the hallway and down to the end, where there was a sitting room.  He would go in there to sit down so he would not fall.
...
The whole time of his visit, ROW-HAY-LEO, was ready to fall... but he stayed for a correct time then left.
...
I would give him the shirt off my back.
...
So, welcome, my good friend, welcome.  Come in and rest a little while.  Put on a pair of slippers here and use the recliner in the corner by the window and fireplace.
...
I will slide into the kitchen and get us a few beers in a bucket.  Meanwhile, do you want to see some recent pictures of sunrise and sunset?  Sure, you do.
...
.These images are from March 18th.  Sunrise and sunset photography, as promised above.
.

.
.It has been getting warmer and warmer as of late.  Spring is coming.  Today in London, Ontario, Canada, it will be a high of 11'C and a low of 8'C.  The Robins have arrived, and the boys are singing and staking out their territory.  There is one just below my window.
...
With no traffic on the road due to everyone staying home to stem the spread of the COVID-19 virus sweeping the world as another pandemic did in the aftermath of WW I.  The Spanish Flu of 1918-1919 killed over 50 million people.
...
Anyway, no traffic so I can hear the Robin singing quite clearly.  He is a great singer.
...
This COVID-19 is really disrupting the whole world.  Everything is closed.  Everything is closed.  The people are awaiting new stock to reprovision the empty shelves of the grocery stores.  Truckers will be Gods when they arrive.
...
They are putting place measures that ensure safe and secure grocery shopping.  The first hour of their opening will be devoted to the elderly.  I will qualify for that as I will be 68 in April.
...
But happier times.  Families get to be together and make some great memories.  When this is all over, then maybe stronger bonds in friends and family will have happened.
...
How about a couple more sunrise and sunset photography, my friend?  Sure thing, buddies.
....

.
.The above pictures are the sunset photography of March 17th, 2020.  St. Patricks day.  I went to an Irish high school.  Well, there were a lot of Irish descendent children as high school classmates.
...
I will see if I have some sunrise photography for you.
...
.
The next couple of pictures are from the morning of March 15th.

.
.How about some video to end this post.  You bet ROW-HAY-LEO.  Coming right up!
...

.
.
There are way more videos over on my video feed.

Here is the link if you want to see my vids.
...

And with that my friend, I will bid you a good day, thank you for your visit it is much appreciated, and I hope you come back again.  So, until then...
.
Happy trails to you.

SUPER SUNSETS SEEN

.SUPER SUNSETS SEEN

MAGICAL MOMENTS

SUNSETS are magical in that their patterns are unique every time that the Sunsets.  I, for one, feel privileged to view each and every one. (A story for another time).

With the year progressing to now be August 6th which is pretty close to the 15th.  That is mid-August and almost September;  September has always freaked me as that was back to school time.

From top to bottom, each picture is called Close, Closer, Closest.

Copper colors create a creepy cloud over the closed commercial storage complex.

Casual and Soft, Sun shows her colors when below horizons

Sam the Strawman waving goodnight to Sun.  He waited all day.

Nature never ever makes a straight line. The top is Nature and Bottom is manmade

Humble and Humid.  London, Canada at the end of the day.

.
A few nice pictures is always a good idea to show to people.  I have way more on my website.

.
I am having such a great time taking these pictures and videos for all of you.  No matter what time of day you go outside for a photoshoot, there is always something interesting to document.  That is how I see it and I will continue to be having fun here.
...
Some more recent pictures now.

That's it, for now, my friend.
Talk you later, FRANKEEE

See you later.

PLASTIC IS FOREVER

PLASTIC is FOREVER
.
.

Some plastics that I have.

.
.
.
.Imagine that the smaller of the plastic objects above (my iPhone case) is a face.
.
The two black round dots are eyes and the straight line below is it's the mouth.  What do you think that is saying to me?
.
What the heck were people thinking when they started to use plastic bags, I was very apprehensive as I knew that brown paper bags had so many other applications or used elsewhere and I knew that they would decompose.
I can think of these applications for paper bags:

  1. Cover your school books.
  2. Wrap that shoebox that you are using to return goods.
  3. Keep your tulip bulbs over the winter.
  4. Bury your pet.
  5. Bury your dreams or keepsakes for later.
  6. Carry your fortune to the bank.
  7. Lunch? Yup, how many used paper bags?

I have a daughter that returned from 4 months in Bangkok and visiting other cities and close by countries, For take-out food, you get each dish individually placed in a plastic bag. That could be three items  Then those three are put into a bigger plastic bag or even double bagged.  So that is five bags for one person...
.
.
Times that by how many people in Bangkok go for takeout at lunch.  Yeah, I thought so.  A whole bunch of people and times that by the populations of China with over 1 billion people, India with its vast population. Etc, etc, etc. you get the picture?
.
Can you picture that every piece of plastic ever made is still on this earth somewhere, on land, in the air, in our oceans, seas, and lakes? Never going to melt or go away.  Ever.
.
Bring back paper bags in stores and other outlets.

Here are some stormy weather photos.  Ugly and wet.

I hope these are not too big for your phones.  Not everyone has an iPhone X MaxS or anything high end.  Someone (Google?) did a survey and the average phone is Android and costs $200.00.  Not very high end.
...
So, I must design my websites to load fast for them.  I do this by using Google's tools to test them in the design shop before publishing it.
...
Well, FRANKEEE, I will say goodbye and until we meet again ...
...
Happy Trails to You.

SUNSET SOFTLY SEÑORITA.

FRANKEEE ...

so glad that you could come over today.  Come in out of the chilly air.  Google tells me that it is -4'C this morning.  Cloudy and going up to +7'C.  Warm sunshine to warm our bones.
...
You know the drill, mon ami.  Shoes off and slippers on then move over to your reclining chair by the window and close to the fireplace.  I still don/t know how you ended up with the choicest location of the living room.  But, I suppose the guest should have the best of what I can offer.
...
You relax and I shall return with some tea this time. Some nice tea with some homemade biscuits.  Yummy for the tummy.  Meanwhile, you can look some pictures of this morning.
...
We can start off with a short video of the skyline with a couple of accompanying photos;.
...

.
.

..
That is the half-moon up above.  I have a time-lapse of it having its moonset.  I should be able to find it.  Sure can.
...

.
.
I realize that each of the videos is marked as a sunset.  That should be sunrise!!
...
  .
.
I hope that you and your family are safe and healthy during this worldwide pandemic.  CORVID-19 out of China.  Again.  The last pandemic, in 1918, wiped 50 million people out of a population of 1.8 billion.  That is only 2.77% of the world's population.
...
A couple more pictures and videos now.
...

.

.
.
There you go, friend.  If you want to see more come over to my YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCabvAKtWGKKuILYJhvdq3BA

Great videos.

OK see you next time.

SUNRISE SUNSET SUNDAY

FRANKEEE ...

Its Sunday today.  Church day for most.  I stopped going to my church awhile back.  That is a story by itself.  I fact I walked out twice in the middle of the ceremony to protest what the priest was saying.  But, that is another blog post.
...
The other reason that I don't go into established churches is that I see God in everything I look at when I am in HIS outdoor.  I am awestruck how everything is built (form) and how it interacts with the whole (function).  Form and function are friggin' awesome.
...
But, where are my manners?  Come in my dear FRANKEEE ... and make yourself comfortable.  That's right.  Get those slippers on and go on over to your recliner chair by the window and close to the fireplace.
...
I'll go and get us some beers in an ice bucket and we can sit down for a spell.  Meanwhile, do you want to see some recent images? Sure, my friend, coming right up.
...

.
.
Hey, now pilgrim.  Here are the beers.  I'll pop one for you.  There you go.  And one for me.  Ahhh, a vôtre santé.
...
So, this is quite the situation that the world is in with this CORVID-19 crap going on.  The world is shutting down to contain this thing.  The last pandemic happened in 1918 when the men that were fighting in Europe brought it to North America.  50 million souls died when it was all over.  And the world's population was 1.8 billion at that time.
...
All the schools have shut down here in London, Canada.  The university, the technical college, all of the high schools and public schools.  Stores are going down.  I just heard that Nike shut down its stores in the affected countries, however, they will still pay their employees their salary due during that shutdown time.  I think that the world economy will suffer greatly.
...
I am hoping also that we do not become animals and start to commit crimes to get food, drink or shelter.  Gladly summer is soon to be (come on spring ... Ides of March today (March 15, 2020)).   That may eliminate some hassles of lodgings as tent can be erected and maintained better than in the middle of winter.
...
May God help us all.
...
Some pictures to cheer us up and get out of this funk.
...

The Summer Olympics happen this year.  Tokyo in 2020.  I think that this is their third time winning the bid for summer.  They seem to put on a show every time they do have the Olympics.
...
I hope that this thing is over by then and it has not affected any of the athletes.  I guess that they would take the runners up if the athlete representing the country could not compete.  That's what I would do.  Otherwise, you could theoretically have three people in a race???
...
Speaking of race.  There is no way tht a sunrise aor sunset is a race.  Low and slow she goes,
...

Well, friend FRANKEEE ... that is all from me today, amigo y amiga.
...
Until we meet again, happy trails to you.

Andre.

SUNRISE SILLINESS

FRANKEEE ...

WOW, my children told me that I can no longer go outside or amongst people.
...
There is a reported case of the CORVID-19 infected woman in London, Canada.
..
Seeing that I am in the group that is most vulnerable (babies and older folks or anyone with a lowered immune system) I can no longer go outside for fear that I will get infected and pass on to another life.
...
I don't see any difference as I have not been able to drive since the beginning of December when I was told by the Ministry of Transport that my driving privileges were revoked until certain criteria were met.
...
This all happened because I was honest in my words and I told it to a Doctor.
...
First, let me get us some beers and we can sit down and chat more.  You get on your slippers and go sit on your recliner there by the window so you can watch the deer in the garden.
...
While I am gone why don't you look at some pictures of my recent photoshoot?  Actually, it is the sunset of last night.  Friday the 13th.  Yup.
...

...
Here we go FRANKEEE ...  a couple of beers in an ice bucket.   Here is one for you and one for me.
...
OK.
...

DOCTOR:

Honest with the doctor?  I was explaining the work up to a heart issue that I had had just before that.
...
I had a racing heart and was very dizzy and not very responsive.  In fact, I was leaning way over on the side and a passing gentleman asked if I was OK.  I sat up and said Yes.
...
When he left I resumed the position.  Anyway, I ended up fainting and falling forward ... like just tipped forward off of the outdoor bench that I was sitting on.   So trouble with my heart and not the first time, right.
...
My thoughts on how this got precipitated were that I may have overdone my marijuana consumption.  A little too much and a little too early.
...
Let's see more pictures for a little bit.  Cheer us up,
...

...
So I explained to my doctor (in confidence I was always told) that I had smoked maybe three puffs on a marijuana blunt and then drove somewhere,  He stopped me right there and asked me.  "Did you consume marijuana then operated a motor vehicle on the highway?"  Yes, I said.  you then declared."I will have to report this to the Ministry of Transport.  When I protested, he said that he was under the government's orders to report such use. Fuck, I said.  For real?
...
Anyway, I receive a letter by mail suspending my driving privs and to fill out this form by the doctor who reported the infraction.  I got that filled out by my doctor and sent away to the MoT.
...
A couple of weeks pass and another letter arrives from the MoT.  Now they want more info, who was the prescribing doctor?, how much and how often do I consume marijuana?  Then they would compare data with the "national average?" And let me know their findings on whether I can drive again. Fawk, fawk, fawk!!!

...
More pictures?  Yes, the above is quite depressing.  How can a photographer take pictures when his sunrise photoshoot locations are in the countryside?
...

So next time we meet, FRANKEEE .. I will tell you how I became a bionic man on March 12th.
...
Until then my friend.

Andre
